Race Recap: St. Patrick’s Day Half Marathon

I can describe this race in one word: BBBBRRRRRRR !

It was 36 degrees at the start of the race and didn’t get much warmer. As you can see from the picture, my choice of a tank top wasn’t the best. Although the arm warmers, hat and gloves helped.

This race is somewhat low key but attracts some of the areas best runners. This year’s top overall finisher came in with a strong 1:11 finish.

The race went exactly according to plan. My idea was to run a steady 8:30 pace throughout. I we did just that. Finishing at exactly 1:50.

The course starts and finishes in historical downtown Hagerstown. With the middle section, of the out and back style course, rolling through the Maryland countryside. A section tours by Marty Snook Memorial Park that adds some good variety.

This is my second time running this race and it is always well supported with water stations, spectators and a finish line DJ.

Another great race is in the books with my Run Squad. Looking forward to the next, then the next and next and next……….
